CAMHS Manager
About the role...
CAMHS employs a range of managers who are responsible for overseeing the safe and effective delivery of services. CAMHS managers include team leaders and clinical service leaders. Team leaders are responsible for the day-to-day running of the team, and work closely with the clinicians.
Clinical service managers work with the team leaders and clinicians to develop the service and ensure young people and families have a good experience in CAMHS.
What qualifications do I need?
CAMHS clinical service managers and some team leaders will hold a clinical background in CAMHS. They may have started their career in a ‘core profession’ such as a mental health nurse, therapist or social care professional, with relevant qualifications depending on their profession. They may also have undertaken leadership qualifications and training.
What experience do I need to bring?
Team leaders and managers will have gained specialist experience in working in CAMHS, and will usually need experience in leadership or managing people before taking on the role.
