Charge nurse or ward sister
About the role...
This is a senior nursing role, with a wide range of clinical and operational responsibilities. You will be demonstrating leadership locally and across the service and wider system. You will likely be responsible for line management and a team or be an expert in your clinical area taking a leadership role within the wider organisation. You are likely to have some clinical client facing time in a working week alongside management, leadership and innovation. You will be contributing to a wide range of agendas pertinent to your service area, ensuring governance, accurate data reporting and leading on transformation as required. You will work closely with corporate services across the organisation to promote excellence in care delivery for young people.
What qualifications do I need?
• Bsc Nursing Studies or equivalent
• MSc/ Ma in relevant area Independent Nurse Prescribing, Advanced Clinical Practice, Leadership
• Leadership qualification
• Teaching Qualification
• Coaching qualification
What experience do I need to bring?
Evidence of at least 2 years as a senior staff nurse, demonstrating extended clinical skills and leadership. Line management and supervision skills. You will be an expert in at least one area of children’s mental health.
You will likely have worked in more than one CAMHS setting to understand the complexities of the system and a child’s journey through pathways and interventions. You will have attended and contributed to service development, a clinical pathway, workforce development and / or participation and co production.
You will be familiar with managing people, resources and budgets. You will likely have worked across multi agency boundaries and with key stakeholders to advocate and promote children’s mental health and joint working with CAMHS.
