Zone B - Social work
Social workers may be employed by CAMHS in their capacity as a Social Worker (Year 2 and beyond) where their main role is to be the conduit between CAMHS and Children’s Services, support and lead with Safeguarding within teams and the organization. Work with complex young people systemically and often where a trauma intervention is required, or the Child is Looked After.
Social work qualification can allow for working within all areas of the CAMHS community and in patient services.
Social workers may enter CAMHS as a Team Manager if they demonstrate the appropriate skill set and qualifications.
Newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) may be employed within CAMHS as a Mental Health Practitioner( MHP) or as a Social worker within a CAMHS team
There is the likely progression for NQSWs during Year 1 with a development post to band 6 if ASYE completed.
