Nursing is a health care profession that integrates the art and science of caring and focusses on the care of individuals, families, and communities to help them recover from illness and maintain optimal health and quality of life. Nurses must complete a nursing education programme through university and can enter into nursing from college or through apprenticeship routes. Within CAMHS, nurses specialise in mental health either before or on the job, where they develop a meaningful therapeutic relationship based on trust acceptance and understanding.
